PES Polyethersulfone
DESCRIPTION
Polyethersulfone abbreviated as PES is an amorphous, transparent, and pale amber high-performance thermoplastic consisting of repeating phenyl groups linked by thermally stable ether and sulfonic (-SO2-) groups. PES is the most temperature-resistant over extended time periods. It has relatively high-water absorption, drying is required before thermoforming. It has poor fatigue characteristics and is prone to environmental stress cracking but has good long-term thermal aging resistance and reasonable radiation resistance. PES possesses high mechanical properties, thermal stabilities, and chemical resistance.
In industrial settings, PES (Polyethersulfone) is primarily used for components requiring high heat resistance, excellent chemical resistance, and dimensional stability, including pumps, valves, pump housings, heat exchanger parts, electrical insulation components, medical devices like surgical instruments, filtration membranes for water purification, and parts for the automotive and electronics industries.
